Outdoor life: Creative photography at the Race to the Sky dog sled race. I had fun with my flash and trying some different things. The energy displayed by the sled dogs is simply insane... all they want to do is run NOW and FAST! You actually see it best on the images with long shutter speeds and creative flash techniques!

Outdoor life: Getting ready for the Race to the Sky, sled dog race, February 13-15 2015, Seeley Lake, Montana, USA.

This is an annual sled dog race in Montana. It is a serious one... this year the contestants race for either 100 miles or 300 miles; the latter takes multiple days. The Race to the Sky is a qualifying race for the Iditarod in Alaska. This year the start was at 6 pm as the temperatures were too high during the day. The images below are from when it was still light. Images from the start will follow later.
