Road ecology blog: Wildlife warning sign and road-killed capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris), Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil.
It is only about 4 km between Katia's house and office. Yet in the few weeks I have been here she has already counted 4 roadkilled capybara on this stretch. Wildlife warning signs featuring capybara have been installed along this route, but as in many other places wildlife-vehicle collisions continue to be abundant.
