Road ecology blog: Adam Hofland (national coordinator Dutch defragmentation program (MJPO), demonstrates a badger gate (Eurasian badger (Meles meles)) allowing medium sized mammals to escape from the fenced road corridor, A2 motorway, The Netherlands. It is important that the gate has a footing that is kept clear from vegetation and debris that could potentially keep the gate propped open after use.
