Rocky Mountain wildflowers: Common camas or blue camas (Camassia quamash), Packer meadows, Lolo Pass, Idaho, USA.
I put my camera on a 6 m long pole to get a different perspective on the camas. From the ground it may seems as if the field is just filled with flowers. However, with a higher viewpoint the patchy patterns of the camas become clear. Subtle differences in hydrology are likely causing these patchy patterns.
