Montana wildlife: The trouble with photographing pygmy rabbits (Brachylagus idahoensis), Montana, USA.
Pygmy rabbits are dependent on big sagebrush for both food and cover. This makes it tricky if you are trying to photograph them. There are almost always branches in the way! :)

Pygmy rabbits are the smallest rabbit or hare species in the world. Pygmy rabbits need deep soils to dig their burrows. They are dependent on tall, dense sagebrush for both cover and food. In winter their food almost exclusively consists of big sagebrush.
