Rocky Mountain Wildlife: Wolf (Canis lupus), approaching on snow covered river Wyoming, USA.

Sometimes you get what you want. The snow on the frozen river made for a perfect canvas for this wolf. I had spotted the wolf who seemed to be traveling on and along the frozen river. I took position on a hill overlooking the river and waited for the wolf to approach. The snow left no distraction whatsoever. The wolf and a set of tracks are the only noticeable features. I do not know what animal left the tracks in front of the wolf. The wolf was following the same path though; perhaps the wolf was the animal that left these tracks earlier and it was now simply following the same tracks back.

Beautifully composed photograph with a lovely use of the negative space. I would have been tempted to make the mistake of zooming-in more and spoiling that. You did really well to anticipate the movement of the wolf and to get this head-on shot of it approaching. Gives a great feeling of anticipation as it heads towards you. Brilliant work!
