Road ecology blog: The unpaved coal haul road associated with the Tavan Tolgoi coal mine with coal trucks in Small Gobi B strictly protected area just north of Gashuun Sukhait (border Mongolia/China), Gobi, Ömnögovi, Mongolia. In the foreground (left corner) is the road from Oyu Tolgoi (mine site) to Gashuun Sukhait. Behind the dust from the trucks is a paved toll road for the coal trucks that seems to receive much less use than the gravel road that does not require a toll and that does not have an enforced weight limit for the coal trucks.
