Travel: Traditional Korean restaurant in a village, north of Hunchun, China
Traditional Korean restaurant in a village, north of Hunchun, China. The floor is elevated and a wood stove heats the space under the floor which is very comfortable in winter. Most restaurants have a collection of differently sized table tops. If a large party arrives a larger table top is positioned on a central pedestal and if the group size is smaller a smaller table top is used. The people simply sit cross legged on the heated floor or on small stools. Note that the second person from the left (Mr. Lang) wears bright red socks. Bright red is considered a "lucky color" in China. Given this man's profession, tiger researcher, it is not a bad thing to be lucky with every step you take in the forest.
