Coyotes in a copulatory tie while a third coyote looks on, Wyoming, USA. Immediately after the two coyotes started copulating the third (larger) coyote) came running. This third coyote seemed to sniff and paw at the pair that were now in a copulatory tie. The presence and activities of the third coyote seemed to make at least one of the mating coyotes (perhaps the male) uncomfortable and he tried to walk away. However, the copulatory tie may last 15 minutes, half an hour or longer, so the mating animals cannot simply seperate.
