Rock art. Red hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus caama or A. caama), Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Free State, South Africa.This hartebeest appeared on the ridge that was already in the shadows as the last light lit up the rocks behind it.

Road ecology blog: No place to go
Road ecology blog: No place to go. This driver got boxed in between African bush elephants (Loxodonta africana) and common tsessebe (Damaliscus lunatus lunatus), Kruger National Park, South Africa. This elephant had the biggest tusks we saw during our trip. Fortunately both the driver and the elephant kept their cool.
