Fast harlequin ducks (Histrionicus histrionicus), LeHardy Rapids, Yellowstone River, Wyoming, USA. I used slow shutter speed and panning as the harlequin ducks moved a bit upstream in the rapids.

Great blue heron (Ardea herodias), Hayden Valley, Yellowstone National Park
Great blue heron (Ardea herodias), Hayden Valley, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. As the heron strikes for a fish, it spread its wings. I used a slow enough shutter speed to blur the movement of the wings, but still keep the sharpness on the heron's face.

Harlequin ducks (Histrionicus histrionicus), Lochsa River, Idaho, USA. Both the male and the 2 females display courtship behavior: stretching the neck and head-bobbing movements. Note: at about 25 seconds the ducks start to look up to the sky as a bald eagle flies over
